Week 13 Share

Our 2017 Summer CSA season will be 26 weeks long

From the first week of June through the last week of November.

By signing up for our CSA program you are making a commitment with us to purchase a weekly share of vegetables for the duration of the growing season.  You are also making an investment in your farmers, allowing us to purchase the equipment and build the infrastructure necessary to responsibly care for our land and provide fresh vegetables to our community members each week.  We can’t build this farm without your help.

NEW! Choose your own box (Find a location nearest you!): Each week members will have the opportunity to log in to our website and select the items that they would like to be packed into their box for that week from a selection of 8-12 items. The selection of produce that will be offered will change throughout the growing season depending on what is fresh.  Each week we will pack each member’s box individually based on what they have chosen and deliver each box to the appropriate pickup location.

Market Style (Broadway Coffeehouse location in Salem ONLY): Each week’s offerings will be displayed like a booth at the farmer’s market where each member will be able to choose their share from a selection of 8-12 items. The selection of produce that will be offered each week will change throughout the growing season depending on what is fresh. Someone from the farm will be staffing this pickup every week, answering questions and listening to your thoughts, stories, and testimonials!

Bread Add On (Optional)

Choose from three different bread options to add to your vegetable share. Bread is baked fresh daily by our friends and neighbors at C & K Orchards. Click here for more information.

Coffee Add On (Optional)

By choosing to join the coffee add-on, you are committing to purchasing a weekly quantity of whole bean coffee roasted fresh by Steel Bridge Coffee in Salem, which is another small, NW Oregon business producing a high quality product with passion and care. They work with various suppliers to provide primarily certified Organic and Fair Trade coffee beans from Central and South America. Owner Joseph Penner has a commitment to sustainability. Driving through Salem, you often see him or one of his employees delivering coffee to their customers… by bicycle!  We are offering three different roasts: Dark, Medium, and Decaf (dark roast), and four different weekly amounts: 8oz ($13.00/lb), 12oz ($12.00/lb), 16oz ($11.00/lb), and 20oz ($11.00/lb).

What does a share look like?

The following is a sample selection of what you might expect to be available at different times of the season. The quantities listed for each vegetable are equivalent to what you would receive for one item (ex. 1 lb Snap Peas= one item). If you were a medium share, for example,  you would choose 8 items from each week’s selection of vegetables.


Choosing the right share size for you!

There are many factors that affect what size share might be right for you. Some of the factors may include number of people in your family, age, appetite, how often you eat out, dietary preference (heavy vegetable eater, vegetarian, vegan, etc.) and how many meals per week that you cook with veggies. Here is a basic guideline for the different share sizes. Keep in mind that when you make a commitment to the CSA the farm depends on that income to sustain itself through the season, so please choose conservatively and you will have the opportunity to bump up if needed.

Small Share– Often the small share is perfect for single individuals, or couples with up to one young child. The small share can also be just right for larger families who eat out frequently or who don’t cook with vegetables in every meal. If you or your family members are new to eating vegetables, we recommend starting here.

Medium Share– In general this share is great for families with 2-3 kids or for individuals or couples who are heavy vegetable eaters.

Large Share– The large share is a great option for families who eat a lot of veggies. If you need more than 10 items per week you are welcome to sign up for multiple shares (ex. Large and a small share for a total of 15 items per week).
