The greenhouse is already half full with the sun warming the tiny little plants that will soon be ready to transplant into the freshly tilled Willamina soil. Sun finally has arrived, helping us kick off another growing season at the new farm as we sow the first seeds of the season this week. We are more than ready to say goodbye to the long, rainy winter.
We are settling in at our new home in Willamina and are happy to be farming again. Falling back into our normal rhythm of work, yet the pace has changed with the simple ease of walking out the door, down the hill to work rather than driving back and forth with a scattered farm in three different locations. We are continuing our commute to the West Salem land to finish up the Winter CSA harvests and to clean up the last of our tools. By the end of the Winter CSA we will be completely moved.
We are starting to get ready for the main summer season. Tractor maintenance, barn building, and planning for the Summer CSA… we will be there before we know it!
